The Black Dots That Help A Windshield Stay Attached
Look around the edge of a vehicle windshield and you may notice a solid black border that fades into rows of smaller dots. This pattern is not ordinary paint, tint, or decoration added after the car is built. It is a durable ceramic enamel commonly called a frit. During glass production, the material is printed onto the windshield and fused to its surface with heat, creating a permanent feature with several practical jobs.
