From Chilean Airline To Regional Aviation Leader: LATAM Airlines Group S.A. has roots stretching back nearly a century. Its history began in 1929 with the creation of Línea Aérea Nacional de Chile, better known as LAN. The airline gradually expanded beyond Chile, adding international service and building connections across South America and other parts of the world. A major turning point came in 2012, when LAN and Brazilian airline TAM completed their business combination. LAN Airlines S.A. changed its name to LATAM Airlines Group S.A. in June of that year. The combination brought together two major South American aviation businesses and helped create a much larger regional airline group.

What The Residence Is: Etihad Airways is known for offering one of the most exclusive experiences in commercial aviation. The airline introduced “The Residence” on select Airbus A380 aircraft. It is a fully enclosed, three-room suite designed for one or two passengers. The Residence includes a private living room, a separate bedroom with a double bed, and an en-suite shower room. It is located on the upper deck of the aircraft, at the front, giving passengers privacy and space not normally found on commercial flights.
