Sea Otters Help Hold An Underwater Forest Together
A sea otter floating on its back looks relaxed, but its next meal may help protect an entire underwater forest. Along parts of the Pacific coast, sea otters eat sea urchins. Urchins eat kelp. That simple food chain has a large effect on the animals that live beneath the waves.
