A Cool Roof Can Reduce Heat From Above
A roof spends much of its life facing direct sunlight. Dark roofing materials can absorb a large share of that energy and become much hotter than the surrounding air. Some of this heat then moves into the building below. A cool roof is designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less solar energy than a conventional roof.
