Arrest Made In Series Of Random Attacks On Women In NYC

New York, NY – April 24, 2024 – A recent string of random attacks on women in New York City has seen a significant development with the arrest of a suspect. 

Daquan Armstead, 31, is facing charges connected to eight separate assaults that occurred between mid-February and mid-April.

These attacks, primarily focused in Lower Manhattan neighborhoods like Greenwich Village and Tribeca, left many women feeling unsafe on the streets. 

The NYPD has been investigating the incidents, with some speculation that there might be additional perpetrators involved.

“While this arrest is a positive step,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, “we urge the public to remain vigilant. 

Our investigation is ongoing, and we encourage anyone with information about similar attacks to come forward.”

Armstead is charged with multiple counts of assault as a hate crime and aggravated harassment. Police believe he targeted women during his attacks.
